Privacy policy
This is a translation for your convenience. The German version is the legally binding one.
This page explains which data Pedalparty processes, what for, and where it is kept. In short: only what the app needs to ride, save and share. There are no ads, no tracking and no analytics tools.

Visiting the site
Pedalparty runs on servers of Fly.io (Fly.io, Inc., USA) in the Frankfurt data centre. When you visit, technically necessary data is processed, such as your IP address, the time and the address you requested. This is needed to deliver the site and run it securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Pedalparty itself writes no access logs and stores no IP addresses. Fly.io is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which is the basis should data reach the USA (Art. 45 GDPR).
Account and sign-in
To sign in, you enter your email address and get a code. Accounts and sign-in run on Supabase (Supabase, Inc., USA). The data is kept in the Frankfurt data centre (region eu-central-1). The emails with the code are sent by Resend (Resend, Inc., USA). The basis is your use of the app, that is, a contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Resend is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR). With Supabase, the European Commission's standard contractual clauses apply should Supabase access data from the USA (Art. 46 GDPR).
Profile and workouts
Your profile stores your name, icon, FTP and, if you enter it, your weight. When you finish a workout, I store the recording: date, duration, distance, power, cadence and speed. I also store which minigames you have played, how many workouts you have ridden and which achievements you have unlocked. This data is also kept at Supabase and only you can see it (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
If your trainer or a sensor provides a heart rate, the app shows it live. Heart rate counts as health data. It is only saved if you turn on “Save heart rate” in your account. By doing so you give your explicit consent (Art. 9(2)(a) GDPR). If you turn it off again, I delete the heart rate from all saved workouts. Anything already uploaded to Strava you delete directly on Strava.
Shared rooms
When you ride in a room, the others there see your name, your icon, your live numbers and your results. Rooms only live in the server's memory and are gone as soon as everyone has left.
Phone as remote
When you scan the code on the laptop, the server connects your phone to your laptop. Only the shifting commands and the live numbers pass through, that is, gear, power and cadence. None of it is stored. The connection is gone once you close the page on both devices (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Strava
If you connect Strava, I store the access keys Strava gives me and upload finished workouts to your Strava profile. The upload contains the workout's name and date and the recording, that is, power, cadence, speed, distance and, if you save it, heart rate. From then on, Strava's privacy policy also applies to this data. You can disconnect at any time in your account; I then delete the keys.
Trainer and Bluetooth
The connection to your trainer runs directly between your browser and the device. Of this, only what is listed above under profile and workouts is stored.
Browser storage
Pedalparty keeps some data in your browser's storage, for example settings, personal bests, your language and your seat in a room in case the connection drops briefly. This is necessary for the app to work (§ 25(2) TDDDG). There are no cookies for ads or statistics.
Fonts
The fonts are served from the app's own server. Loading them sends no data to Google or anyone else.
How long data is kept
Your profile and workouts stay stored until you delete them or your account. In your account you will find “Delete account”. That removes your profile, workouts and Strava connection right away.
Your rights
You can ask what data I hold about you and have it corrected, deleted or restricted. You can get it in a common format, object to the processing and withdraw your consent. Just send an email to the address above. You can also complain to a data protection authority, for example the one where you live.
